First time here, Jaime our bartender was very attentive and gave us some great food recommendations. I ordered some micheladas to go with my western burger. Definitely will be coming back to try the rest of the menu.
10/10 would recommend. The service was amazing and can't wait to go back. I recommend the tenders, but he aware they are huge delicious but huge.
We eat here 3x per week and highly recommend the Blue Ox. The food is great, the staff is amazing and friendly. I have eaten at all the blue ox locations and they are all good.
One person's morning maybe another's night. The late night service may have found you longing for hours of the day where the sun shines, this be not such a place. I hold tenderly the silent 24 hour bar and restaurant close to my heart of hearts (it's my stomach). And this spot wears well every bit of nostalgia one may have for such memories. The beer is cold, some local, while the bourbon is a plenty and the fernet follows closely. The chicken fingers, unique in their soft crunch are the juiciest pieces of chicken you may have ever had. It's honestly simplicity done with respect. Solid food. The staff, as in the one person behind the bar, is as friendly as can be and took the time to pour a proper pint of beer. Man I really like this place.
Great food! Best chicken fingers EVER. Our server, Jaime, was wonderful, very attentive without hovering. Meatloaf was delicious! Cheese Curds, not quite as good as in the Midwest, but fairly close. Bread Pudding was amazing. Just a few cons; very, very smokey inside. No separation from bar and restaurant. Also tables/chair need updating. Few tables, mainly high tops or narrow booths. If you're a disabled person - get take out! I was uncomfortable, so had to take off a star. Remodeling is a definite must. Comfort food is best enjoyed in a comfortable setting: this was not. Only because of the seating. Food and service is outstanding, if they ever remodel, we'd be there a lot more often.
Came here because I heard the chicken fingers were good and they exceeded our expectations! They are bomb! Also, their onion rings are great. I could tell both were made from scratch immediately. This is definitely going to be one of our regular spots now. The service was amazing too. I can't wait to try more menu items and drinks in the near future!
I had moderately low expectations when I came here and I was clearly wrong because the food here is simply outstanding. I ordered the Western Bacon Burger and it was delicious. The party was thick, cooked perfectly, and the BBQ sauce was amazing and hot, yes the BBQ is on the burger and served hot. The fries were cooked well but nothing special, just your basic fries. The Ranch dressing was out of this world. My wife and I both thought it tasted a little like "Cool Ranch Doritos" and it was delicious. Service was on point and very good. Prices are below your average pub,bar, or restaurant. Excellent prices on food and overall we were pleased and will be going back soon.
If you like bar food - YES!! I met my dad here for a sensitive conversation (no alcohol). The atmosphere was so calm and receptive to why we were there. Our waitress was FANTASTIC! She was extremely attentive and sensitive to our conversation. Let's be real, a TON of important conversations take place at a table... in a restaurant! The music was a very decent volume, making conversation totally possible. My dad is a blue-cheese dressing snob for sure! LOL His standard is very high :) he swears by their blue cheese. I had it as well, and YESSSSS He said the chicken tenders were better than Canes - I had some disbelief. But I can say, honestly, WOW! And the house chips - HOLY! They have only Chalulah hot sauce, but mixed with the blue cheese *drool* Overall, if you're looking for tavern food and like chicken tenders and basic side-salads - THIS IS THE SPOT!
The chicken finger at the blue Ox are a Las Vegas Staple, I use to come here over 29 years ago. I forgot how absolutely succulent they are. Made with real pieces of chicken breast and dipped in a light crispy batter to perfection. There's no filler no skinny cookie cutter, assembly line processed chicken stuff here. When you're in the mood for some real chicken fingers, the blue ox is a must try, also the wrench is made in the house absolutely yummy. Fair warning food is addicting.
